FROM THE FIELDS: Widespread Lettuce Ice in the Desert Region
February 21, 2018
We have widespread lettuce in the Arizona/California desert growing region, as morning temperatures dipped as low as 28 degrees. Significant harvesting and loading delays are expected for all row crop vegetables in the area. Some harvesting crews are being pushed back to an 11:00 AM (MST) start time.
Today will be the coldest day of the of the week, but more lettuce ice is expected over the next few days as well.
