The Salinas growing region received a few hundredths of an inch of rain yesterday, May 12, that had minimal impact on harvesting row crop vegetables. A more substantial, late-season storm is expected to bring a quarter-inch or more Sunday, May 17 and Monday, May 18. Markon will be instructing suppliers to pack ahead leading into the weekend in case actual rainfall totals exceed current estimates and cause significant production delays early next week.
