• The Huron, California growing region will begin in the southern portion of California’s San Joaquin Valley in mid-October
• Unseasonably high temperatures have been recorded in that region over the last four weeks, with multiple days in the low 100s
  • Growers have worked hard keeping fields wet to help mitigate heat-related defects
  • Some inconsistent sizing and weights may be seen in initial fields
  • The Impatiens Necrotic Spot Virus which is affecting quality in the Salinas Valley is not typically found in Huron
• Markon inspectors will continue updating the progress of the crop until harvesting is underway
