A large percentage of Salinas Valley lettuce and tender leaf growers have cancelled or curtailed today’s harvest due to the poor field conditions caused by rain that passed through the area this morning. Skies have now cleared, but more showers are possible later today.

Expect harvesting and loading delays over the next few days as harvesting crews and equipment struggle through muddy fields. Elevated levels of dirt/mud may also be present on field-packed lettuce items.
