FROM THE FIELDS: Rain in the Salinas Valley
A light rain has been falling on California’s Salinas Valley since yesterday evening. Four tenths of an inch have been recorded as of this morning. The current weather forecast predicts scattered showers through the AM hours before returning to sunny skies this afternoon.
Harvesting crews may experience minor delays, but will be able to work, and will be taking measures to keep boxes as clean and dry as possible. Despite their efforts, some boxes may exhibit elevated levels dirt and/or mud on the inside and outside of the boxes.
Markon inspectors will be evaluating field conditions and will update further as we receive more information.
