FROM THE FIELDS: POOR FIELD CONDITIONS IN ARIZONA/CALIFORNIA DESERT REGION

January 22, 2021

The Arizona/California desert growing region has received 1-1.30” inches of rain from Tuesday, January 19 to Wednesday, 20. Current working conditions are extremely muddy and dramatically reducing harvest crew efficiencies. Heavy/deep mud is forcing production crews to utilize multiple tractors to pull harvesting machines through the fields and to pull full trailer loads of finished product from the fields.

Another half inch of rain is forecast from Saturday, January 23 through Monday January 25 followed by dry conditions and cool temperatures through the rest of the week.

Markon inspectors will continue to assess quality and update further on the impact of the weather forecast as needed.
