Markon First Crop Premium Iceberg Lettuce is unavailable due to light case weights; Markon Best Available is being substituted as needed.

Recent weather and tight markets have caused a decline in case weights for 24 count iceberg lettuce packs. Quality is very good at this time, but weights are expected to remain below average for the rest of the Salinas, California growing season.

Markon inspectors will be reviewing upcoming supplies from Huron, California this week and will update further soon. Initial iceberg production in Huron will begin the week of October 16.
