FROM THE FIELDS: Light Rain in Desert Growing Regions
January 15, 2019
Early this morning, light rains moved through the desert growing regions of California and Arizona. Up to .25” fell in the Coachella, California region and less than .2” fell in the Imperial Valley, California and Yuma, Arizona areas.
Most crews have delayed harvesting and a limited number of lettuce shippers have canceled production altogether. Markon requested all suppliers pack ahead, yesterday, for our Tuesday loading orders.
Warmer weather is forecast over the next several days as temperatures return to seasonal norms in the low 70s. No lettuce ice is expected over that time.
