FROM THE FIELDS: LETTUCE ICE

November 25, 2020

The Arizona/California desert region will experience its first significant frost event of the winter season as a low pressure system brings gusty winds and cool mornings. Light lettuce ice is expected today and tomorrow, November 24 and 25, becoming more widespread this coming Saturday and Sunday as temperatures dip into the low 30°s in colder areas; sporadic harvesting delays may occur.

After slight warming early next week, the forecast is calling for more gusty winds and cooler temperatures December 5-7.
