Markon First Crop (MFC) Premium Iceberg Lettuce from the Yuma, Arizona growing region is unavailable; Markon Best Available (MBA) will be substituted as needed.

A limited number of growers will begin harvesting iceberg lettuce in the Yuma, Arizona growing region on Monday, November 2. The Yuma season is beginning earlier than normal due to high temperatures in the area. 

Preliminary inspections are exhibiting good overall quality with sporadic seeder concerns. Heads are medium in size with large ribs and puffy texture. Initial weights are forecast to be in the upper 30s to low 40-pound range for the first week, then increase as production moves forward.

Markon Inspectors will be reviewing more fields in the upcoming days and will report back with any further information.
