FROM THE FIELDS: Desert Region Quality

December 06, 2019
Wet, humid conditions coupled with elevated daytime temperatures have caused mildew and occasional internal burn to develop in all commodity items growing in the desert regions. Growers are applying mildew sprays, but more moisture each morning is causing new mildew spores. Crews will be trimming damaged leaves before packing, decreasing both weights and yields.

Upcoming forecasts call for elevated daytime temperatures with high winds up to 40 MPH.
