FROM THE FIELDS: Cold, Wet Desert Weather

November 29, 2019
The Arizona/California desert growing region experienced two storms over the past seven that dropped  two tenths of an inch to just over an inch of rain each, depending on location. Temperatures have also fallen below seasonal norms. This cold, wet weather pattern will persist into the week of December 2 causing disruptions and delays in harvesting, processing, and loading operations.

Morning temperatures will dip into the low 30s on Saturday, November 30 and Sunday, December 1, cause widespread lettuce ice to develop on various desert crops. Current forecasts call for potential rain again December 4 and 5 as well as December 7 and 8.
