Transition - Spring is Here...
—Tim York
Spring is a time of renewal—the season when everything is fresh again. It calls to mind nostalgic things like baseball games and the smell of freshly mown grass…cherry blossoms in the nation’s capital and the annual Easter egg roll on the White House lawn. It’s when the cold Northeast finally thaws, the winter rains end in the Southwest, and California’s brown, fallow fields turn green once more. It’s also when the Arizona desert vegetable season winds down
and growers pack their trucks for the migration back to the fertile Salinas Valley.
What’s particularly exciting this spring is Markon’s foray into social media. You may have seen the Live From the Fields YouTube videos that we’ve been posting for several months and found insightful, helpful information that is tailored to your foodservice needs. We’re proud of these videos and will continue to report on the timely factors that affect your business, but we realize that social media is so much more than that. It’s really a tool for two-way dialogue. So expect more interaction here on our Seedlings blog, as well as on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
We heartily encourage your participation in this dialogue—we want to hear from you. We want to know about your new product ideas, what concerns you face, the challenges the foodservice industry throws your way, and how we can help you put more healthy fruits and vegetables on your menus in new and innovative ways. Please, tell us what you’re thinking on any or all of these social media platforms, so we can forge a stronger relationship with you and your customers. Let’s get the conversation started!
