The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) along with state and local health officials and agriculture departments and laboratories have linked through epidemiologic, microbiologic and product trace back evidence that cucumbers grown in the Delmarva region in the state of Virginia were the likely source of Salmonella Newport infections that occurred from May to September of 2014. No Markon products were affected.
