FOOD SAFETY UPDATE: Meijer and Eagle Produce recall Cantaloupes Due to Salmonella

Meijer of Grand Rapids, MI, in conjunction with Eagle Produce, LLC of Aguila, AZ. are recalling whole cantaloupe and cut cantaloupe fruit trays and bowls. The recall is the result of a sampling investigation by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and is due to the potential risk of Salmonella. Recalled products were sold between Sept. 26 and Oct. 5 of this year at all Meijer stores in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky and Wisconsin. There have been no illnesses associated with the recalled products to date.
