FOOD SAFETY UPDATE: Mann Packing Recalls Value Added Vegetables Due to Listeria
No Markon products are included in this recall nor did Markon purchase any of the implicated packer label products from Mann Packing. Please remember to physically check your inventory to ensure none of the affected products are in your warehouse.
Mann Packing, of Salinas, CA, is recalling value added vegetable produts due to potential contamination of Listeria monocytogenes. The recall was initiated after a single sample, taken by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) at retail, resulted in a positive for the pathogen. The affected products are labeled with a “best if used by date” of October 12 through October 20 and were were distributed throughout the United States and Canada. There have been no reported illnesses associated with these products at this time.
