Storage Tips:

Refrigerate immediately upon arrival; store at high humidity with adequate circulation.

Handling Tips:

To minimize browning, store lettuce away from ethylene-producing items (apples, avocados, cantaloupe, pears, and tomatoes). Rinse whole fruits and vegetables in clean running water prior to using.

General Usage Ideas

  • Offer a traditional Caesar salad using chopped MFC Romaine, RSS Lemon Juice, RSS Peeled Garlic, olive oil, anchovies, and shaved Parmesan cheese
  • Mix puréed cantaloupe melon, RSS Lemon Juice and plain yogurt; toss with salad of MFC Romaine, sliced MFC Red Delicious Apples, and walnuts

Fall / Winter Usage Ideas:

  • Toss MFC Romaine with toasted hazelnuts and cranberry-parsley vinaigrette
  • Stir-fry shrimp and sliced MFC Red and Yellow Bell Peppers with soy sauce, sesame oil, and cornstarch; at the end of cooking, add MFC Romaine; flash-fry and serve on rice

Spring / Summer Usage Ideas:

  • Toss chopped MFC Romaine with chopped mango, macadamia nuts, and vinaigrette made with MFC Strawberries
  • Grill MFC Romaine until slightly charred; serve with lemon-chive buttermilk dressing
  • Purée grilled jalapeno chile peppers, RSS Lime Juice, and RSS Washed & Trimmed Cilantro; chop MFC Romaine and toss with fried tortilla strips; serve on top of grilled mahi mahi; drizzle chile pepper mixture over all
