Handling Tips:

To minimize browning, store lettuce away from ethylene-producing items (apples, avocados, cantaloupe, pears, and tomatoes). Rinse whole fruits and vegetables in clean running water prior to using.

General Usage Ideas

  • Offer a traditional Caesar salad using chopped MFC Romaine Hearts, RSS Lemon Juice, RSS Peeled Garlic, olive oil, anchovies, and shaved Parmesan cheese
  • Mix puréed cantaloupe melon, RSS Lemon Juice and plain yogurt; toss with salad of MFC Romaine Hearts, sliced MFC Red Delicious Apples, and walnuts

Fall / Winter Usage Ideas:

  • Toss chopped MFC Romaine Hearts with toasted hazelnuts and cranberry-parsley vinaigrette
  • Stir-fry shrimp and sliced MFC Red and Yellow Bell Peppers with soy sauce, sesame oil, and cornstarch; at the end of cooking, add chopped MFC Romaine Hearts; flash-fry and serve on rice
