Food Safety Director
Kate Burr, Markon’s Food Safety Director, employs her experience in field and processing practices, product recalls, and sustainability to enhance our food safety initiatives. She regulates suppliers’ compliance with Markon’s 5-Star Food Safety® Program standards, ensures all Markon First Crop, Ready-Set-Serve, and Markon Essentials products meet or exceed our stringent food safety specifications, and serves as the voice of Markon for all food safety-related matters. She also delivers relevant industry information to members, alerts customers about food safety concerns, and conducts ongoing research in the field. Outside of work, Kate volunteers with a local women’s service organization and explores California’s Central Coast.
