Receiving Inspecting:

Fiddlehead ferns should be tightly coiled, with good elasticity, and bright green color. Avoid product with brown or yellow coloring.

  • 90-98% relative humidity
Shelf-Life:
1 to 2 days.
Troubleshooting:

If not used quickly, fiddleheads may turn brown or yellow; their freshness is short-lived.

Usage Ideas:

  • Sauté fiddlehead ferns with chopped ham and diced onions; deglaze with sherry and serve with braised chicken.
  • Serve steamed fiddlehead ferns with roast beef and horseradish sauce.
