Markon Live from the Fields, Ready-Set-Serve Salad Items in Yuma, Arizona, November 28, 2012

John Galvez, Markon's quality assurance director, reports from a Yuma, Arizona where he reviews the quality of Ready-Set-Serve (RSS) Salad items. RSS Spinach and Spring Mix quality is currently very good. Iceberg and romaine-based salad items also have good overall condition, but a small quantity of heat-related defects such as core pieces, tip-burned leaves, and occasional chunks may be present in finished packs. Markon inspectors will continue to monitor quality as temperatures in the low 80s are forecasted for the next several days, which could prolong quality problems.
