Matt Collins, Markon's inspector, reports on recent high temperatures throughout California's Salinas Valley have led to heat-related quality concerns such as internal burn. These defects can develop overnight and can be very challenging to detect prior to heavy trimming. Markon inspectors are monitoring fields and raw product very closely following the heat wave to ensure only the highest quality lettuce is used in Markon First Crop and Ready-Set-Serve packs.
