LIVE FROM THE FIELDS: Widespread Lettuce Ice in Yuma, Arizona

View a Markon Live from the Fields video about widespread lettuce ice in Yuma, Arizona.

The temperatures in the Arizona/California desert region fell into the low to mid-30s last night. Widespread lettuce ice developed, causing delays as long as two hours as crews waited for the product to thaw. Cold temperatures will stall growth, which will cause a further drop in overall case weights. The younger fields will start to get blisters that then turn into epidermal peel. Current forecasts predict low temperatures over the next several days.
