LIVE FROM THE FIELDS: Frost-Related Quality Issues

Watch the latest Markon Live From the Fields video regarding frost-related quality issues that are now being observed in the Arizona/California desert growing region. Lettuce items such as green leaf, iceberg, and romaine are developing some of the following quality issues related to last week's freezing temperatures. Most of these defects are cosmetic and don't affect internal quality, but harvesting crews can't completely avoid them. Temperatures have warmed up, but there is a chance for rain mid-week that could further impact quality. Expect varying levels of frost-related defects in lettuce crops for at least three weeks.
