Receiving Inspecting:
Pomegranates should be large in size, well-colored, and show no signs of deterioration.
Storage Handling:
Short-term storage recommendation (7 days or less)
- 41-45° F/5-7° C
- 90-95% relative humidity
Shelf-Life:
30 days.
Troubleshooting:
Rind pitting/discoloration and internal discoloration/decay are signs of chill injury. Do not store below 41° F/5° C.
Pomegranates may lose moisture if they are stored in an area with low humidity.
Usage Ideas:
- Toss watercress, hearts of palm, and pomegranate seeds; dress with orange vinaigrette.
- Drop pomegranate seeds into sparkling cider and Champagne.
