Receiving Inspecting:

Fresh figs should be plump and fairly soft when ripe. Avoid figs that are damaged from rough handling.

Storage Handling:
 

Short-term storage recommendation (7 days or less)

  • 32-36° F/0-2° C
  • 90-98% relative humidity
Shelf-Life:
7 days.
Troubleshooting:

Fresh figs are susceptible to freeze damage. For best quality, do not store below 28° F/-2° C.

Rough handling may cause ripe figs to burst; keep handling to a minimum.

Usage Ideas:

  • Add chopped figs and toasted hazelnuts to spring mix; drizzle with yuzu dressing.
  • Stuff whole figs with Gorgonzola blue cheese; broil until cheese melts; drizzle with honey.
