Bok Choy

Bok Choy
Common Packs:

5- to 65-lb. cartons

3- and 6-count cartons

Receiving Inspecting:

Good quality bok choy should exhibit clean, crisp stalks and fresh-looking leaves. Avoid wilted or significantly discolored product.

Storage Handling:

Short-term storage recommendation (7 days or less)

  • 32-36° F/0-2° C
  • 90-98% relative humidity
21 days.

Wilting can occur if bok choy is stored in an area with low humidity. Store properly.

Exposure to ethylene gas can cause yellowing and a loss of green color. For best quality, keep bok choy away from ethylene-producing fruits and ripening rooms.

Usage Ideas:

  • Stir-fry chopped bok choy, chopped red cabbage, broccoli florets, and thinly sliced beef; add teriyaki sauce; serve with brown rice.
  • Grill bok choy, Shiitake mushrooms, and green onions; serve with Hoisin sauce.
