John Galvez, Markon's quality assurance director, reports from Salinas, California where Markon First Crop Asparagus is currently being harvested by hand, and sorted for size and quality. The season typically begins in late March and continues through late June. Favorable growing conditions have increased supplies enough to easily cover the high demand for Mother's Day. Current asparagus quality is excellent. Markon inspectors will continue to update as needed throughout the short season.
