John Galvez, Markon's quality assurance director, reports live from Yuma, Arizona where late-season cold weather has caused frost to develop on several consecutive mornings for the past two weeks. Warmer weekend temperatures (as high as the mid-80s) will cause more of the clear blisters to burst open and discolor. Expect epidermal blistering and peeling to remain industry-wide issues in lettuce crops for several weeks.
