Sustainability: Bloom Energy
Bloom fuel cells were Taylor Farms’ first step towards cleaner electricity. The cells generate a significant amount of Taylor’s current use, in fact every kilowatt of electricity they generate reduces their footprint by 30% and drives down water use by 99.99%. In 2013 the cells provided 37% of the plants’ total energy needs while operating 22% cleaner than energy off the grid in terms of emissions. This translates to an overall 12% reduction in total carbon dioxide emissions for their operations. Taylor Farms hopes to serve as an example for other companies to follow and continues to invest in this form of energy and others like it.
