“Growing up in the Salinas Valley, you are surrounded by agriculture. My grandfather came to this country as part of the Bracero Program. He eventually brought his family with him and they settled here in Castroville, California. The chances and risks my grandfather took coming to this country over 60 years ago eventually gave me the opportunity to create my own career in this industry. What I love most about the produce business is how important every single person plays in achieving the finished product, from harvesting to sales, and everything in between. We’re all just a small part of a bigger tradition and legacy of providing first-rate fresh vegetables to the world.”
