“I have been surrounded by the produce industry as long as I can remember. Growing up in Salinas, California, the salad bowl of the world, and having field workers as parents really made me realize just how much hard work this industry demands. It was always nice when mom would bring bags of fresh salad from work for dinner—I would eat a whole bag by myself! Or when my dad would bring a box of fresh strawberries straight from the fields…delicious! I have always appreciated their hard work and was intrigued by all of the processes it takes to get produce in the hands of the consumer.”
