“I have been in the citrus industry for almost fourteen years now. I came to work for LoBue Brothers Inc. after the housing market collapsed in our area, answering an ad in the newspaper looking for workers for the set-off line. It was a different type work altogether from construction, but I was up for the challenge. My first two years here I worked days, first stacking boxes, then operating wrapping machines, then driving forklift as my skill set grew. I worked the night shift as a shipping clerk for several years before moving to day shift clerk. I then moved to purchasing, followed by quality control and food safety, ending where I am now as production manager. I enjoy the work and my coworkers. It is fulfilling to see the results of our work when I go to grocery stores or theme parks and see our cartons, bags, or fruit with the LoBue logo on it. Watching families eat the product and really enjoy it makes me proud of what we do.”
