Markon First Crop (MFC) Premium Romaine Lettuce is readily available; prices remain low.        

• Overall romaine quality is good; fringe burn, internal burn, and light mildew pressure are present, but most defects are being trimmed at the field level
• Industry estimates indicate overall romaine demand to have dropped 10-15% since the Centers for Disease Control issued an Advisory on chopped romaine out of Yuma, Arizona on April 13
• Prices are expected to remain low for the next few weeks; summer season/local regional harvesting will be underway soon, suggesting the market will remain depressed through the summer months
