FROM THE FIELDS: Central California Rain
Rain began falling in Northern and Central California last night and will continue throughout the day with lingering showers into Saturday morning. Poor field conditions will cause harvesting and loading delays for Salinas row crops in particular over the next few days. Huron, California has not received rain as of yet, but is expecting showers by late morning.
Growers have been packing ahead in anticipation of the rain and will take measures to keep cartons as clean and dry as possible; some dirt/mud can be expected in and on field-packed cartons.
Markon inspectors will be monitoring field conditions and quality closely and will update further as needed.
