Tomato prices have fallen. Although supplies increased in Mexico and Florida, this week’s near-freezing temperatures will slow growth and delay production in Central Florida. As Florida volume diminishes, demand will shift to Mexico, pushing the market back up to the mid-level range.

Central and South Florida mature green volume will increase through January
- New crop harvests have begun in Central Florida
- Growers in Southern Florida are expected to start harvests in 7 to 10 days
- Below-normal temperatures will slow growth and delay production in the central part of the state; markets will stabilize this week
- The Mexican mature green season is underway
- Quality is very good
- Vine ripe, Roma, Grape, and Cherry tomato volume is increasing, slowly easing markets
- Demand will shift from the East Coast and push prices back up to the mid-level range
